Areas we serve

A private midwife in Sydney who comes to you

Four independent endorsed midwives, each running her own practice and each deciding how far she travels. Between them the collective reaches a good deal of Sydney.

How coverage works

There is no single service area

Finding a private midwife in Sydney means asking a collective rather than an agency with a map on the wall. Each midwife sets her own travel area, and those areas change with how busy she is and where her other families are that week. All four endorsed midwives visit families at home, and Medicare rebates apply for eligible families. The rest of this page explains how to find out who can reach your suburb.

So rather than publish a boundary that would be wrong for three of the four, we do it the other way around. Tell us the suburb you are in, and we will tell you which private midwife travels there. You then deal with her directly.

The suburbs below are the ones families most often ask about when looking for a private midwife in Sydney. If yours is not listed, ask anyway.

Travel areas are set by each midwife and can change. Always confirm with her before you count on a visit.

Suburbs

Where families ask us from

Each has a page explaining what a home visit involves and how to find out who can reach you, whether you are after a postnatal midwife in Sydney or antenatal classes in Sydney before the birth.

For a private midwife in Sydney, the list is a starting point

These are simply the suburbs families most often ask us about for midwife home visits in Sydney. Plenty of visits happen in suburbs that will never appear on this page, because one of the four happened to be able to reach them.

One enquiry costs you nothing and gets you a straight answer either way.

A clear yes or no, quickly

If nobody in the collective travels to you, we will say so rather than leave you waiting. Between four independent practices the answer is often yes, and when it is not, it is better to know now than to find out at thirty-eight weeks. Any private midwife in Sydney (opens in a new tab), ours included, can be looked up on the Ahpra public register, which shows whether she holds an endorsement.
